Waxing Aftercare

After waxing, your skin may be a little red or sensitive. Here are some easy tips to take care of it:

 

  • Don’t take hot showers, baths, or go to the sauna for 24 hours.
  • Wear loose clothes so your skin can breathe.
  • Don’t touch or scratch the waxed area.
  • Avoid using perfume, lotion, or deodorant on the waxed area for a day.
  • Use aloe vera or a gentle cream to calm the skin.
  • After 2 to 3 days, gently scrub the skin to help stop ingrown hairs.
  • Stay out of the sun or tanning beds for 1 to 2 days.

Types of Intimate Waxing: What’s the Difference?

Understanding the different styles of intimate waxing can help you choose what’s best for you. Here’s a quick guide:
Bikini Wax
Removes hair from the sides and top of the bikini line. Great for those who want a clean-up around the edges when wearing a swimsuit.
Extended Bikini Wax
Takes off more hair than a regular bikini wax, including further in on the sides and a bit more on top. Still leaves some hair, but gives a neater, more defined shape.
Brazilian Wax
Removes all or most of the hair from the front, including the labia and a strip or triangle if you prefer. Often includes hair removal from the buttocks area, but can be customized.
Hollywood Wax
Removes all hair from front to back—completely smooth with no hair left.
